Online Gambling Is NOT Welcomed On Most Hosting Platforms

Some people didn’t even understand. Most Host Providers don’t allow online casinos to be running on their servers because, these gambling websites are built to launder money. Since gambling is regulated around the world… running gambling businesses requires a license. I recently heard some news about some online gambling sites that were designed to rip you off. Some can skim credit/debit cards, and steal your financial data.

People who were involved in running gambling sites were susceptible to having their hosting accounts suspended, or their domain forfeited altogether,–or even end up in prison. And some people were upset because, they claimed their host provider’s terms aren’t clear at all, and sometimes vague.

If this is the case if you were a webmaster who is running your site for years, and you were a site owner who implemented a gambling zone on your site,–whatever if its located via a directory, or subdomain, or root domain. There are specific regulations that makes it illegal to run a gambling site,–unless you had a valid license to do it.

Many webmasters has been convicted of operating an online gambling site, and they’re been sent to prison for some years. And even in some cases; you were placed under house-arrest. Usually, tax avasion, bank fraud, mail/wire fraud, check fraud, credit card fraud, money laundering, and other fraud occurs on these online casinos.

Those are the following questions what webmasters may ask,–after their accounts terminated/suspended.:

  • Why is my hosting account suspended? What I was doing is a legitimate business.
  • Why is my domain forfeited?
  • Why is my subdomain for gambling services removed?
  • Why am I getting a notice from a hosting provider,–telling me why my account is on hold?

This is the reason why your site is now gone… it was removed bia regulations of your government, or court order. You were writing lots of code for your games to work, but your games has been caught, attracting children. According to a campaign to stop online gambling; there are some online casinos using children’s characters to attract children and parents,–all without the permission of these creators who created them. Maybe these creators of this site hasn’t been creating their own content from scratch. But rip off other creators.

That’s why many people were in debt,–due to fraud found on gambling sites. Thankfully… wordpress.com, wix.com, Bandcamp, Blogger,–owned by Google Inc. has prohibited gambling services from running on their servers. That means; if you ran one on Blogger… it will be gone on the next day!! But writing about resolving gambling addiction is still susceptible to being sensored by Blogger itself.

Running your website via a hosting provider requires you NOT to launch a gambling website,–unless you had a valid license to do so. But its always a good idea to check with your region’s specific regulations to find out if gambling is legal, or illegal.

If you wanted to keep your website in good standing, try create legal interesting, and unique content that is informative. Especially if you were making a gaming website that doesn’t involve gambling. For example; you were writing a long entertaining fictional stories on your website.

If you had a WordPress install on your website, you may lose all of your data,–if your hosting provider deletes your account via an order of a court. That means; you’re NOT going to get your data, and relaunch your gambling site. You can also lose your monetization accounts. AdSense… owned by Google Inc. has specific policies regarding placing ads on gambling sites. That means; your account will be pulled. And you will lose all of your earnings. All of that gambling can scare away some advertisers who were trying to stay away from your gambling site… since I don’t gamble; I always watch out for these sites.

Now these days; the USA and the law enforcement are cracking down on illegal online casinos… and seizing winnings from these individuals who were joining these gambling sites.

What You Should Do

Don’t attend any of these illegal gambling sites. If it’s hosted via any hosting provider of choice, report it immediately. Talk to your provider about implementing policies for online gambling sites. It may take some time for your hosting provider to search for these users who were involved in illegal gambling. If you were a blind webmaster who has concerns,–regarding illegal gambling, and you suspected your parents stole your SSI funds; contact your local services for help immediately. SSI funds for the disabled are designed for personal use for legitimate uses,–not for gambling online.

Safeguard your money at all costs, encourage other people in your community to dodge away from these gambling sites that are illegal.

If you ran your own website for your users; implement policies that will prevent online gambling from running on your website.
