What Should I Write About On My WordPress Multisite?

Great! You owned a domain via a web-hosting company, and you were setting up a WordPress multisite. Starting your multisite, and writing something on it is common for all of us who have creative ideas. For your site to be effective; you got to have content, and your content needs to be unique. Wether you are a writing artist, or a fan who review movies, products, or services. Your empty website is kind of like a giant composition book what you usually use for school works, and other work. But composition books can be used as a starting point to write books. As you write something in your website… you create content. A book can’t be read without content!

You’ve chosen a web hosting company of choice such as Bluehost, Dreamhost, Green Geeks, or any desired hosting company. Some of their servers may be pre-installed with WordPress for you, or you can install it yourself. If you started owning your shiny new domain; and you started to get server space… your server space acts like an empty book that is used for writing your own content. It’s kind of like writing a book.

You use your imagination, and you think about what you should write on your WordPress multisite.

  • Can I write fictional stories on my WordPress multisite, just like writing a book?
  • Can I write a WordPress multisite as a wiki, a news site, a web book, or a video site with my own videos?
  • Or… Can I write a WordPress multisite as a large fictional chapter book, and place ads on it?

You can write anything you imagine on your WordPress multisite, but If you were using a hosting company who is susceptible to attacks from sanctioned foreign countries… there are most policies implemented on most web-hosting companies; and you have to read the terms carefully. One wrong move can lead your site or domain canceled,–and land you in court. Here are some categories what you should AVOID writing about:

  • Don’t write about child pornography! Child pornography is illegal in the USA, and other countries. Islamic law doesn’t make you immuned to being sent to prison for distributing these illegal images, or other content that endangers children. Most predators who were involved in posting sexual content that is illegal were pulled from our internet. Think about this guy He was sentenced up to 10 or years behind bars for his crime! If you were a person who runs a multisite for other users, and you were susceptible to having these unwanted images posted on your website, be sure to contact your hosting provider for assistance.
  • Don’t write about forcing anyone to convert to other religions. For example; a blog post that promotes forced conversion to Islam.
  • Don’t post content that encourages “honor” killing of women and young girls. This act should be illegal. Murder is a serious crime. If you were involved in doing this… you will be in prison for life, and you will lose your entire website.
  • Don’t Write content that encourages terrorism, such as joining terrorist groups. This is not limited to providing material to terrorist groups condemned by USA, and other countries.
  • Don’t write a site that sells tobacco products, or alcoholic products.
  • Don’t write a site that encourage parents to spank children for any reason. This should NOT be done under any circumstances. In some countries, such as Sweden… its illegal to spank your child. There’s no ands, ors , or buts about it!
  • Never write a site that encourage anyone to post death threats against anyone. It’s illegal to do this.
  • Don’t write content on your multisite that encourage thoughts of suicide. Staying alive is always a good advice. You should never kill yourself. If you believe a site has been rigged with suicidal thoughts; contact a suicide-prevention team via a local hotline. Be sure to check your telephone directory in your city/nation/regional places.
  • Never write content that instructs anyone how to make a bomb for the purpose of causing mass harm to anyone.
  • Never write content that encourage policemen/policewomen to illegally arrest anyone. Any illegal arrest may lead a police department to lawsuits, and heavy fines.
  • Never write sexual content that attract children via any age. This is a bad practice for all webmasters of all sizes. Most hosting companies don’t allow most adult content.
  • Don’t post high amounts of spam on your multisite.

If you were writing fictional stories on your multisite… write it, and categorize it with desired categories. Be sure not to flood your site with irrelevant content. Try to keep your topics clean, and write it like a normal book. Never the less, don’t write content that focuses on rape fantasy, homicidal thoughts, murder fantasy, and other fantasy that is not suitable for our blogging community.

If you were using a screen-reader susceptible to stalling; try to keep at least 4000 words per each post, and segment your content. That works the best for some computers with built-in screen-readers. Chrome OS… for example has some stalling points when using Chromevox. At minimum; buy a secondary computer, and use it as a full-production machine for your large posts. And use your Chromebook for small edits, and code implementation uses.

If you were writing about your personal life… write about it. This is useful if you want to bring problems with your family to light, writing a story about an endless abuse what you’re suffering, and the way to get out of an abusive situation. For example… you written a post about your big brother who bullied you during childhood, and your mother failed to punish a bully. Your post received 200 views a day. And your family has been brought to shame.

Using Ads To Monetize Content

If you were relying on ads to monetize your site; always place ads at the position of your site that will NOT block the actual content of your website. For example; placing a 160×600 tall ad unit at the sidebar is the best for index pages, and category pages,–useful if your site is susceptible to ad cluttering. Jet Pack via wordpress.com will help you set which widgets to be visible on your entire site, or subsites. Chitika… for example encourage us to keep at max of 3 ad units per page. If you were about to add ads above and below each post, always add a label “Advertisements” or “Sponsored Links” to prevent people from mistaking an ad as your actual content. Google AdSense… a controversial ad provider who is involved in fraudulently suspending user accounts for no reason has these same policies to keep at max of 3 units on your site. But Google Ad Sense has claimed relevant ads are delivered as expected, but you are susceptible to be screwed,–due to AdSense’s flaws. If you have trouble… Use this plugin, AdRotate! This plugin enables you to set each ad locations across your website/blog. You can use both AdSense and Chitika ads at the same time. It’s easier to manage your ads like a webmaster who cares about content being read by anyone.

Well… there’s a plugin that is available to use for your WordPress multisite that is free with lots of features, its not Adpress… its not OIO Publisher… its Advert! This plugin enables you to take full control of your ads, and keep all of your revenue. That also cuts out the middleman… this is a free alternative to OIO Publisher. And Unlike these proprietary plugins that won’t meet WordPress GPL standards… you can enjoy all of these features without an upgrade.

Writing A Multisite As A Wiki Or Other Purposes

If you were writing a wiki for your site; use a subdomain, and place “wiki“… follow by your domain name,–if you want anyone to learn more about your fictional characters, places, books, movies, and more. If you were licensing your fictional character under a Creative Commons license, do it,–and let others know about your fictional characters what you’ve licensed for reuse. This is necessary for anyone to reuse them free of charge! You can accomplish this by using a Creative Commons Configurator plugin. If you were relying on donations; check with a payment platform for more information.

If you were making a support site for your content… use a subdomain, and name it as “support“… follow by your domain name. This is necessary for your site to have one,–so your visitors can get help with your site, and content. Always publish new help article as your website grows. Try to organize content as you can.

If you have affiliate links on your posts, be sure to disclose a purpose of these links,–according to the FTC in the USA, or other countries. If you were reviewing products, write it in your own words, and add a rel=”nofollow” to these links. Adding this tag is important because, that prevent advertisers’ traffic from growing out of control. Blogger, at the other hand… owned by Google always delete spam blogs with affiliate links misused,–such as failing to add a “nofollow” tag…

If you were writing about your business, and you were providing services for your visitors, always add a Privacy Policy page, and a TOS page to protect your independence. But don’t let copyright trolls, patent trolls, and trademark trolls,–and even trade-secret trolls use your products or services. Never the less… don’t set sex offenders use your website,–if your site is built to be handled by children of all sizes.

If you were hosting videos directly, choose a VPS plan to enable your site to use video tools to stream videos.

If you were planning on promoting your content; use the advertising system to advertise your content to some viewers on other sites where ads were displayed by a different website. Advertising costs money; you need to be very careful when choosing an ad network, or advertising directly with a website with a working payment button via any payment platform of choice. Keep in mind you may need to sanction some countries,–if you live in the USA, UK, or Austrailia,–to prevent terrorists from doing business with you.
