Google Removes Infowars From Their Play Store To Combat Misinformation Spread By Alex Jones

Play time is over for Alex Jones And Infowars! Google has banned an app, Infowars from their store. That means; Alex Jones will be end up reaching less readers because, there’s no way for him to get his app back online. However; his website is still on the internet via his servers, and a hosting company is still hosting his website on their servers.

The Removal Of An App

After Alex Jones published conspiracy theories about the Coronavirus and other misleading news; Google has removed his app from their store. However; his website and his store can still be accessed by anyone, despite recent bans against him. He was deplatformed from Apple, YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other platforms. Unfortunately, hosting platforms what Alex Jones pay for has failed to get him deplatformed. However; PayPal, our favorite payment platform has banned Alex Jones from using their services. Now; he’s stuck receiving traditional paper checks as a way to receive payments. However; These check payments usually go from one bank to the another. This stronghold where misinformation is housed is getting kind of weaker, but he can still develop a PWA as a way to keep his audience connected to his website.

If Alex Jones has been successfully deplatformed from any hosting platformm, that will put him out of business. If this ever happens; he may end up losing his content, his copyrights, and his other rights to his work. Although; many of these hosting providers still run these websites owned by Alex Jones himself. You can still encourage hosting platforms to get him deplatformed to shut him down.

If you still have a bookmark on your browser that leads to Infowars, you can just remove it from your bookmarks bar to keep Infowars off your browser. If it isn’t possible; speak to your administrator about removing Infowars.
