Use A Custom Keyboard Shortcut To Launch FireFox On Your Ubuntu Computer

Although; you were familiar with using a GUI on your Ubuntu desktop, and you wanted to make it faster to open your browser; you can use a custom keyboard shortcut to make it faster to open a browser.

Use “Ctrl-T”

This command is going to be a useful command for any browser what you launch on your browser. This unused keyboard command is ideal for launching browser tabs. Like Chrome OS; you use Ctrl-T to open a new tab., instead of using Ctrl-N. However; this hack is simple to implement. To implement this hack; follow these steps:

  1. Press a Super key on your keyboard, and type “Keyboard Shortcuts” and press enter.
  2. At the field to open a browser; Type Ctrl-T; and save your changes.
  3. Type Ctrl-T to open your browser.

This command is now used for quickly launching a browser without needing to click on that icon. Be aware; this command should NOT be associated with other programs.

This is why you should do this hack:

  • Ease of launching a browser.
  • That compares to a Chromebook what you currently own, or if you were simulating use of a Chromebook.
  • Reduces time with a mouse or arrow keys.
  • Useful for quickly viewing online files when doing other tasks.

Tip:

If you are a Google Chrome user, you can still accompolish a same functionality with a command, Ctrl-T. This is useful if you are wanting to emulate use of a Chromebook,–if you don’t own one at this moment or your current Chromebook is no longer supported.

It can work with virtually any browser! If your browser supports your OS.

This unused keyboard shortcut needs to be a standard for Ubuntu, and other Linux distributions.

Why Ctrl-T because, T is for tab,–and I mean a browser tab!
